What is Dr. Maria's clinic?

Just as the name suggests it is a clinic. The word “clinic” does not refer to a health institution or a facility that offers consultation. It is a facility that is devoted to the analysis and solution of translation problems and for the acquiring of specific skills or knowledge (for definitions and usage of the word clinic click here: www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/clinic). DMTC provides a resource to improve the productivity and quality of your work

DMTC is based on a very successful teaching method that was used with students and then further developed with professional translators. The clinic is not static; on the contrary it is enriched constantly to meet the needs of a moving market and an evolving discipline. Used correctly and fully, DMTC will be an invaluable business partner.
 

DMTC is NOT?

It is not a translation tool that will do the translation for you. We firmly believe that the best translator is a human one and we have made a tool to help you personally.

How can Dr. Maria's clinic help me?

DMTC can help all those involved in Translation studies whether they are students, teachers or professionals. It will take you through any difficulties you have step by step.

Why can I not find what I am looking for?

If you think you cannot find something first of all you need to check your spelling is correct.
Then think: does what you are looking for have another name?
We have made every effort to use terms and phrases the way students and professionals are most likely to use them so think: how is what you are looking for most likely to be known?
If you still cannot find it please email us at help@dr-maria.com and we endeavour to solve your query. All solved queries will be added to the database for others to use.
 

Why is the website in English?

We do love languages however a choice had to be made when creating the database. The truth is that English is the language that most of the translators know. May be they do not use it as a working language but know it. It is the “lingua franca” of today’s world and thus it is the channel that most people will be tuned into. For those of you who feel strongly about your own mother tongue, please keep in mind that using English does not take away the beauty and importance of other languages.

What can I do if I have ordered the wrong module / membership?

If you think you have ordered the wrong membership and are within 3 days of ordering, you may contact us by emailing to help@dr-maria.com. Explain your problem and we’ll correct the membership for you.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership at anytime. However we cannot refund any fees. If you joined in error and have not completed any searches, we will consider a refund.

Does it matter when in the year I join?

No, your membership will run for 12 months from the day you sign up. You will be reminded before your membership expires to join again.

Is membership automatically re-billed after 12 months?

No, we do not use recurring billing. You will be asked if you wish to continue before the 12 months expires
