Dr Maria's Translation Clinic has been developed by Dr Maria Kasandrinou.

Dr Maria has worked as a translator and interpreter and has also worked training both professional translators as well as students. It is through these experiences that she realised that most translators either find difficult to apply translation theory and methodology or simply view it as redundant. As a result they were not realising their full potential. The question was why?

Translation theory and methodology are not mere observations of practice but rather they contain in them practical solutions that would benefit translators. Trying to find a satisfactory explanation as to why theory and methodology are pushed aside Dr. Maria asked the people involved in translation. The answer was unanimous: although theory is nice it is not meant for the hectic work place. It this is widespread attitude that motivated Dr. Maria to create a tool that makes theory and methodology easy to use.

In order to achieve this, a theory make over was needed: theory and methodology have had great contributions throughout the centuries and even more so in recent decades from brilliant scholars, however it now needed to be brought into the 21st century. This has been achieved with Dr Maria's Translation Clinic, and so the ultimate resource tool came into existence.
